The 51st edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is leaving to a vibrant start on the golden coasts of Goa on January 16, 2021, with the opening event at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium at Panaji in Goa. For the very first time, IFFI is being kept in a hybrid mode since of the continuous pandemic. Celebration delegates will have the choice to get involved and view movies and other occasions practically, sitting in the conveniences of their houses. Asia’s earliest and India’s most significant celebration will be packed with a line-up of an overall of 224 movies from around the world this year. Italian cinematographer Mr. Vittorio Storaro is being honoured with the distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award, at the opening event.
The occasion will be enhanced by Union Minister for Information & & Broadcasting, Shri Prakash Javadekar and Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant. The star-studded occasion will have commemorated movie directors Pablo Cesar (Argentina), Prasanna Vithanage (Sri Lanka), Abu Bakr Shawky (Austria), Priyadarshan (India) and Rubaiyat Hossain (Bangladesh), who are likewise the Jury members of the celebration.
A delegation from Bangladesh, this year’s ‘Country of Focus’ will likewise exist in the opening event. The Country of Focus is an unique section that acknowledges the cinematic quality and contributions of the nation.
The opening of the NFDC Film Bazar will likewise be practically inaugurated on the celebration.
