Prior To WandaVision struck Disney Plus, this triggered Marvel fans to hypothesize that the series was going to include Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange in some capability.

Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange never ever revealed his face in WandaVision, however Kevin Feige informed Rolling Stone that he was initially going to. Feige described Doctor Strange was at first behind the commercials revealed throughout the series to snap Wanda out of the Hex. Feige went on to discuss why they eventually chose to take Doctor Strange out of it, which led to some rewrites to the follow up’s story:

“‘ Oh, it would’ve been so cool to see Doctor Strange.’ It would have taken away from Wanda, which is what we didn’t desire to do. We didn’t desire completion of the program to be commoditized to go to the next motion picture– here’s the white person, ‘Let me reveal you how power works.'”
