CAF transfer may take time

What is the amount in 2023?

APL or personalized housing assistance is the most popular housing aid in France . It benefits roommates, tenants, owners, residents in social care homes, etc.

As a general rule, if you benefit from the APL as a tenant, the aid is assigned to the manager or owner of your accommodation . The latter can then deduct this amount from your rent.

But if you find yourself in a situation of access to property, this aid from the CAF will be paid to the banking establishment. In doing so, your monthly loan repayments will be subtracted from the amount of the APL.

L’APL is recalculated every quarter . Its amount varies according to certain criteria, namely:

• Number of children and dependents
• The place of residence
• The average of your income and that of your household over the last 12 months
• The amount of rent over the last 12 months

It is very likely that the value of the APL for the year 2023 will increase. The reason being that its amount will be adjusted to inflation between February 2022 and January 2023. Still, the APL ceiling depends on the geographical area in which its beneficiary lives.

At present, there are 3 areas :

• Zone 1 in Île-de-France. Depending on your family situation, the aid you will receive varies from 308.50 euros to 420.52 euros.
• Zone 2, made up of Corsica and agglomerations with more than 100,000 inhabitants.
