The former candidate of “Top Chef” offered his clients to taste two of its flagship dishes from the show . As a reminder, he put his langoustines with Granny Smith apples on the menu, but also a destructured pine cone as a dessert. Not to mention that before, Mallory Gabsi had teamed up with Adrien Cachot to create an ephemeral chip shop.

At the head of his first restaurant

If the twenty-something flourished by pursuing his passion, Mallory Gabsi was not content to stay on this point. In July 2021, he announced, without specifying anything, that he was preparing a big project .

The establishment in question is located at 28, rue des Acacias, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.

“I could not continue to give advice on TV to restaurateurs without having my own restaurant, a question of legitimacy”, he confided on this.

Restaurant, which will simply bear his name , is a gourmet restaurant with the look of a chic bistro.

“I want to get away from the stuck-up image of this kind of restaurant, to make beautiful gastronomy there and have fun with my team. If I screw up, it's my name, my head, my image,' he said.

Mallory Gabsi faces jail time

Everything seems to smile on him. However, recently, Mallory Gabsi faces a problem. Indeed, the former candidate of “Top Chef” was judged before the Brussels Criminal Court in connection with a fight that arose during a “lock-down party” in September 2020.

According to the accounts of RTL, he admitted having participated in these clandestine parties during the confinement against the Covid-19, in Rhode-Saint-Genèse, a municipality bordering the Brussels region . On the other hand, two versions are opposed on what really happened.

For her part, Mallory Gabsi confessed having gone to this party, however unauthorized (“a mistake,” he admitted through his lawyer) and left her. And this, before realizing that he had lost his bag.

'The organizer of this evening is formal: my client was with her, in the house, when the fight broke out outside,' said his lawyer.

Still according to him, 'the victims target him because he is known '. Witnesses, for their part, claimed to have seen Mallory Gabsi back at this party to find her bag. They also reported that the principal concerned struck two people present in a car.

One of the victims was allegedly knocked unconscious and her jaw fractured . The prosecution requested six months in prison. The verdict is expected on March 1, 2023.
